Project Information

Objective

A mobile application targeting SME hotels to handle booking and reservation, store customer data, generate reports and produce utilization statistics and analysis.

Overview

Our mobile application will offer operational integration between making multi-site reservations, providing customer details, transaction history, utilization statistics and facilitating check in/out processes.

Background

As the existing solutions in the market used by many major hotel chains are too expensive for the SME hotels, a cheaper alternative is needed for SME hotels to manage their hotel efficiently instead of using the traditional methods such as excel templates and local server

Features

  • Cloud database
  • Cross-platforms mobile app
  • Simple and self-explanatory user interface
  • Value-added features:
    • Floor plan view for room status
    • QR code check in and out
    • Chatroom with hotel staff
    • Inventory restock request for cleaning staff
  • multiple end users: front desk staff, cleaning staff, manager, customer

Benefits

  • Cheaper: cut the expenses of hardware maintenance, data security and human resources
  • More efficient: improve the efficiency by better operational integration
  • Easier to use: save the time and energy of having to figure out how to use the app instead of actually using it
  • Improve service experience & better customer relationship management
  • A great start in moving towards e-commerce

Methods

  • Build a cloud database using force.com to handle all the objects, relationships, validation rules and workflow
  • Build a web application entirely in HTML5, CSS and JavaScript, where the application logic are coded in JS
  • Access data from force.com using REST/SOAP API
  • Use an open source technology, phoneGap to create mobile applications on multiple platforms
