Introduction

With the development of next-generation sequencing(NGS), or RNA sequencing (RNA-Seq), the de novo transcriptome assembly strategies benefit a lot from the high-throughput, short reads. Therefore, many de Bruijn graph-based de novo transcriptome assemblers tools were developed in recent years, such as Trinity, SOAPdenovo-Trans, trans-ABySS and etc. MEGAHIT, a NGS de novo assembler for assembling large and complex metagenomics data using succinct de Bruijn graph, is believed to have a great potential to be adapted to a competitive transcriptome assembler.
