Directions from Your Hotel to The University of Hong Kong

• Island Pacific Hotel is about 10 minutes of drive from The University of Hong Kong. Taking a taxi from the hotel to the conference venue costs about HK$25 (US$4). You can also try to walk, it may take you about 30 minutes. See the map for details.
• Novotel Century Harbourview is within walking distance (20-30 minutes uphill) to the conference venue. There is an escalator service at Westwood Mall near Novotel Century Harbourview Hotel covering about 40% of the distance. See the map for details.
• Ramada Hong Kong Hotel is within walking distance (20-30 minutes uphill) to the conference venue. See the map for details.
• Robert Black College is situated in a scenic spot of The University of Hong Kong in mid-level on the West side of Hong Kong Island. You can reach the conference venue with 5 minutes walk.
• IBIS North Point is on the East side of the Hong Kong Island, and it takes one bus ride (the bus route 23) to come to HKU and back; with normal traffic, the bus ride takes about 50 minutes. See the map for details.
• Bishop Lei International House is about 15 minutes away from HKU by taxi. See the map for details.

How To Get to Your Hotel After Arrival

There are many ways for you to travel from the Hong Kong International Airport to the hotel you will stay.

• Hotel Limousine Service and Hotel Shuttle Service
  Almost all the hotels can help you to arrange hotel limousine services. Please refer to your hotel website for details.
• Taxi
  Taxi stands are located on the north side of the Ground Transportation Centre (the left-hand ramp if you are leaving from the Arrivals Hall). Destination Taxi fare (about HK$350 (~US$45) inclusive of bridge/tunnel toll).
• Airport Express
  Airport Express is a dedicated airport railway providing fast and reliable service to the passengers. Its operating hours are 0550 to 0115 daily, running at 12-minute intervals. The journey time between the airport and downtown Hong Kong is about 24 minutes. When you leave, free In-town Check-in service and free porter service are available at Hong Kong and Kowloon Stations of the Airport Express. Outbound passengers can check-in and collect their boarding passes one day in advance up to 90 minutes before take-off. The Airport Express fare is HK$100 (~US$12.5) (from the airport to Hong Kong Station). You are advised to take a taxi (cost about HK$30 (~US$4)) from the Hong Kong station of the Airport Express to Island Pacific Hotel/Ramada Hong Kong Hotel/Novotel Century Harbourview/Bishop Lei International House.
• Airport Bus
  Airport Bus is cheaper than Airport Express.
  Route A10 (from Airport to Ap Lei Chau Estate) will pass Island Pacific Hotel at bus stop #4 (Centre Street, Connaught Road West), Ramada Hong Kong Hotel at stop #5 (Chiu Kwong Street, Queen's Road West), and Novotel Century Harbourview at stop #6 (Shek Tong Tsui Complex, Queen's Road West). The bus fare is HK$48 (~US$7). It takes ~20 minutes to reach your hotel from the airport.
  Route A11 (from Airport to North Point Ferry Piers) can reach IBIS North Point directly at the North Point Ferry Piers Bus Terminus. The bus fare is HK$40 (~US$6). It takes ~80 minutes to reach IBIS North Point from the airport.
  Route A12 (from Airport to Siu Sai Wan Bus Terminus) will pass IBIS North Point at stop #7 (Kam On Street, Java Road). The bus fare is HK$45 (~US$7). It takes ~30 minutes to reach IBIS North Point from the airport.

Other Hotels

• There are also a number of better and more expensive hotels in the Central/Admiralty area in Hong Kong. Taking taxis from those hotels to the conference site might cost HK$50-70 (US$7-10) each trip. The directions to follow by taxi from Central and Admiralty are: Take Cotton Tree Drive to Robinson Road to Kotewall Road and turn right onto University Drive.

Weather

• The weather in HK in October ranges from 24 to 30 degrees Centigrade. You may walk from hotel to the conference venue. If you don't like walking, taking a taxi (through the west gate following the map) may cost about HK$15-20 (US$2-3), and about HK$30 (US$4) from Novotel Century Harbourview Hotel.
