E-Business has emerged as an important computing paradigm in
digital societies. The paradigm imposes many interesting challenges
to both the research community and the industry. These challenges
range from the reliable integration of e-services to trustworthy
transactions of e-retailing. Addressing these challenges requires the
cross fertilization of multiple disciplines, including databases,
software engineering, networking, grid computing, security, machine
intelligence and information systems. Plentiful research issues need
to be investigated before the proliferation of e-business systems.
So, a series of related conferences organised by the IEEE Technical
Committee on E-Commerce have taken place since 1998. The 2007 IEEE
International Conference on e-Business Engineering (ICEBE) is the
latest of a successful series. It provides a high-quality forum for
researchers, practitioners and executives from different disciplines
to exchange their latest findings and experiences. The conference
scope spans the areas of middleware, databases, MIS, Web, and
multimedia. The main themes of this year's conference will focus on:
- E-Commerce Platforms, Models and Applications
- Workflows and Transactions in E-Business
- Management and Engineering of IT-Enabled Services
- Requirement Analysis and Modeling of E-Business Systems
- Dependability and Performance of E-Business Systems
- Business Performance Management
- Data and Knowledge Engineering for E-Business
- Mobile and Pervasive Commerce
- Security, Privacy in E-Commerce
- Open Source Technologies in E-Commerce/Business/Services
- Industrial Track
The conference will take place on 24-26 October, 2007 at the
University of Hong Kong, China. In addition to paper presentations
from the delegates, the program includes keynote speeches, panel
discussions, poster sessions, and two technical Symposiums. A
demonstration session will be held for the delegates to share their
research results. The conference will also schedule a job fair to
provide a chance for the students and delegates to pursue their
careers and for the companies to discover their future employees. A
couple of co-located symposiums are under plan. These symposiums aim
to stimulate discussions over the issues related to service oriented
architecture and e-Business. Extended versions of selected best
papers will be recommended for possible inclusion in The Computer
Journal published by the British Computer Society, and
Service-Oriented Computing and Applications published by Springer.
The CFP flyer can be downloaded from the following.
Full papers must not exceed 8 pages (with size 8.5" x 11"),
using the IEEE two-column template. All papers should be in
Adobe portable document format (PDF) compatible to Acrobat 4.0.
Fonts must be embedded and subset. All graphics must be in a
resolution of at least 300 dpi. Authors should submit their
paper via the electronic submission system of ICEBE 2007. All
papers selected for this conference are peer-reviewed and will
be published in the regular conference proceedings by the IEEE
Computer Society Press. Submissions must not be published or
submitted to another conference or journals.
