I have
a fruitful life of being a Software
Engineering student. Apart from
joining extra curricula activities,
we need to do the interesting projects
these years. Even we need to spend
a lot of time and work very hard to
finish
them, I enjoy the process of working
with my classmates and supporting to
each
other. During these two years of studying,
I have earned not only the computer
knowledge, but also a group of friends
and colorful U life! |
Practical
software development training, well
designed curriculum structure
with lots of elective courses on the cutting edge of the computer world, I
know what I will be in the future - a well-trained and all-round Software
Engineer. |
Besides
getting more professional knowledge
about software development, it does
train me as a real-world Software
Engineer. |
It is a course with lots of theoretical stuff, but it also prepares us
for future profession with some real software engineering experiences.
One can also find the joy of learning interesting computer science knowledge from this course. |
It
was a tough, but rewarding journey... |
The
Final Year Project of Software Engineering
studies involved development of software
for real client from real company.
This allows me to apply knowledge that
I learnt from SE courses into practice
and make me have real experience in
software development before I graduated. |
The
SE programme teaches and requires more
than just the programming. |
The
BBA(IS)/BEng(SE) discipline is a well-designed
one. It provides me
intensive training and exposure in
both the business field and the
engineering side of the software world,
where the two are closely knitted
together. The programme is in-depth
in both, instead of focusing on one
side and merely touching the other
side of the whole story. |
In
Hong Kong, there are good programmers
who can produce good programs, but
there are not many software engineers
that can manage them in a macroscopic
view to ensure they work well together
in mission critical situations that
our
business-oriented economy demands.
Students graduated with a Software
Engineering degree from HKU, the first
undergraduate programme in Hong Kong
to
provide relevant trainings, will be
the pioneers to add quality assurance
to
the software. |
