Thank you for your interest in recruiting our HKUCS students. We welcome companies, organizations, and industrial partners/sponsors to recruit our students for summer or one-year internships.
As a core component of the Bachelor of Engineering degree programme, all Computer Science students are required to undergo Industrial Training to gain working experience in their field of study before graduation. Such real-world experience is an important and necessary complement to the learning and academic training of the students. Students are expected to take up internships that are related to the field of IT, preferably involving software development activities such as analysis and design, programming, product development, system specification and maintenance; and interns must work under the supervision of experienced IT professionals.
There are two forms of internship.
Summer Internship
Students are required to spend a minimum of six weeks of professional industrial training in a full-time IT position during the summer break after completed their second year of studies.
Integrated Study-Work Programme (1-year Internship)
Students may opt to join the Integrated Study-Work programme by taking a 12- to 14- month internship in a full-time IT position after completed their second year of studies.
Simply complete the recruitment form and submit it online to our Department or via email, and we shall advertise the openings to our students.
Please note that industrial supervisor of the host organization is requested to complete an Assessment and Feedback Form at the end of the internship on evaluating the experience gained by the interns and their performance.
