About Me
- I received my Bachelor of Engineering BEng(EEE) degree in
Electrical and Electronic Engineering
from the University of Hong Kong in 2001.
- I worked in the IT department of the
Hongkong and Shanghai Banking
Corp. Ltd. (HSBC) during 2001-2006.
- I received my Master of Science MSc(CS) degree in
Computer Science from the
University of Hong Kong in 2006.
-
I received my PhD degree in Computer Science from the
University of Hong Kong in 2012. My PhD advisor is Dr. C.L. Wang.
-
I am now working as a post-doctoral researcher for the Systems Research Group
in HKU CS Department.
Research
My current research area is high-performance computing (HPC) including cluster and many-core computing. My PhD thesis topic was around a type of middleware system called distributed Java virtual machines (DJVM) which can transparently parallelize a multi-threaded Java program over a cluster of computers. I explored and devised hybrid forms of cache coherence protocols to support more efficient fine-grained distributed object sharing.
- I am an active member in the
JESSICA2 DJVM project, supervised by
Dr. Cho-Li Wang.
- My MSc(CS) project work was to port Apache
Tomcat on JESSICA2
to support real-world web applications or web services.
Teaching
I was a tutor for two Master-level courses CSIS7303 High-performance Computing and CSIS7305 Cluster and Grid Computing during 2007-2010.
Spiritual
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life (Jn3:16).
Jesus Christ sacrificed His life on the cross for our sins. He is my Savior and Lord. Wish you receive His wonderful love and grace by believing in Him.
