I received my diploma in Computer Engineering from the Computer Engineering and Informatics Department, University of Patras, Greece, in 1995 and my PhD from the Computer Science Department, HKUST in 2000. Currently, I am an associate professor at the Department of Computer Science, University of Hong Kong. Before joining HKU, I was a post-doctoral researcher at the Dutch national center for Mathematics and Computer Science (CWI). During 2008-09, I was on sabbatical leave to the Max Planck Institute for Informatics.

Research interests

Spatial, spatio-temporal and multimedia databases, object-oriented and object-relational databases, data mining, search/clustering in high dimensional spaces, constraint satisfaction problems.
