A big thumbs up to HKU Team "Cargo, Run!" for winning the 3rd Place Team Award in the ACM-HK Programming Contest!
Congratulations to HKU team for their impressive performance in the 47th International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) World Finals on April 14-19, 2024 in Egypt!
The HKU team, named "I am not in danger. I am the danger.", ranked 5th among 296 universities in Asia East and was one of the 16 teams that secured a ticket for the World Finals. This also marks the second time in the past decade that a HKU team has advanced to the ICPC World Finals.
The Regional contests of academic year 2023-2024 have finished. Congratulations to 4 teams from HKU winning totally 1 outstanding local team, 2 gold medals, 2 silver medals and 5 bronze medals!
The selection contest for HKU ICPC Team was held on September 6. Congratulations to the top winning students!

The problems came from Southwestern Europe Regional Contest (SWERC) 2020-2021 (Problem A, D, F, K) and Petrozavodsk Programming Camp 2018 - Atcoder (Problem B, D, F).
Lucky that we have ACM-HK Programming Contest back into normal this year! The contest was held in The Chinese University of Hong Kong on June 26, 2022. Team "The Sorting Hat says we belong to Azkaban" solved 4 problems out of 7, again "defending" our first runner-up! They also the First to solve problem C!

The International Collegiate Programming Contest is an annual global competitive programming competition. ICPC contests are team competitions, and normally, each team consists of three students. Teams are required to solve 10~14 algorithmic problems by programming, in 5 hours using one computer, and they will be ranked by the problem they solved successfully ('Accept'), and by their penalty when there is a tie.
ICPC contests are team competition for students representing institutions of higher education. In HKU, for participation, you have to join the HKU Programming Contest team.
Normally, we will conduct a selection contest in September to recruit students for participating in regional contests held between October and December. For the information of the selection contest, you can refer to the homepage of our website.
