Fitting Subdivision Surfaces

We have developed a complete algorithm [Cheng et al. 2004a, Cheng et al. 2004b]  for using the SDM approach to fitting a Loop’s subdivision surface to unorganized data points. We show that the SDM approach is more efficient than those using Euclidean distance for defining the objective function. Also, we show how to use precomputed distance field and curvature estimation to make the SDM scheme work effectively and efficiently.
