Abstract
Pervasive computing provides an attractive vision for accessing information anywhere and anytime. It integrates information world into our living physical world. Pervasive computing mobilizes itself beyond the desktop PC, and presents the proactive "all the time everywhere" goal. Pervasive systems require support for interoperability, scalability, smartness, and invisibility to ensure that users have seamless access to computing whenever they need it. This project expects to build a pervasive computing environment according to the above four properties. We will analyze and study the key problems for pervasive computing, and implement a demonstration of pervasive applications - - Intelligent automobiles (智能影子). The details of the research project include:
(1) Build a new pervasive computing model - - "Intelligent Numen";
(2) Acquire and manage context awareness;
(3) Develop a goal-driven human interface;
(4) Research on resource scheduling and management in pervasive environments;
(5) Construct a pervasive middleware based on "Intelligent Numen" model and service integration;
(6) Implement demonstration and application systems.
Through this project, we hope not only to found and research on a creative theory for pervasive computing; but also to pursue the aspects of devices, networking, middleware and applications for pervasive computing.
