About the Project
Each year, HKU Computer Science Department attracts hundreds of applications for doing a graduate study. In addition to parameter data, such as student profiles, scholarships, there are multimedia data that influences the admission decisions. How can we make use of these data to refine our admission strategies and facilitate the admission process?
What we do
Data Extraction
Automatically extract key information from multimedia admission data.
Data Visualization
Create visual representation of data and make complex daata more understandable, accessible and usable.
Pattern Analysis
Provide a data mining tool box to perform advanced data analytics, unravel patterns and better understand trends.
Smart Filtering
Filter students' applications according to user-defined requirements and criteria.
Intelligent Matching
Suggest appropriate students to teachers based on their interests.
Outcome Prediction
Predict student's application outcome and make implications on the admission strategies of HKUCS.
